Quality Assurance Manager

Responsible for managing PMSI quality assurance activities, including auditing the QA systems relating to application development and testing for completeness and compliance with business requirements.   Serves in the role of leading a team of QA leads and Analysts in the building of testing strategies to certify application changes.  Works closely with the development teams, Architects and PMO, as well as the internal IT customer and Off-shore Quality Assurance team.
Basic Functions:  
Works with all IT Application Development management to identify and implement effective Quality process control systems to support the development, validation, and ongoing maintenance of products and creation of services.
Works with project teams to ensure they are following proper quality assurance processes.
Works with Senior IT Management to act as an effective manager in supporting quality disciplines, decisions and practices.
Enforces the adherence to PMSI Quality assurance policy and procedures
Works with Senior IT Management to ensure the project deliverables meet the standards of quality for the project.
Provides QA estimation based upon requirement analysis, and reviews test plans and test cases.
Works with Senior IT Management on the creation, review and development of the quality assurance policies and procedures for software development, hardware R&D, training, and support.
Works with offshore teams on execution of project and associated production issues and ensures that teams are appropriately tasked and functioning efficiently.
Provides leadership in implementing testing tools and techniques (e.g. load testing, regression testing).
Manages resource allocation to projects and prepares QA schedule and track progress to QA activities.
Performs project testing planning, status reporting, scheduling and communications.
Helps perform build validation test and aids business testers in writing User Acceptance Test cases and scripts.
Reviews weekly QA status reports and take necessary actions for better deliverables
Manages the daily activities of the QA team, including payroll processing, time off administration, employee relations and HR-related paperwork and processes.
Manages the performance management process including annual performance reviews and continual coaching and feedback to motivate and enhance associate performance.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information management or related field or equivalent experience.
Desired: Master’s degree in Computer Science or information management.
Work Experience
Required: Minimum 3+ year quality assurance lead experience in a medium to large IT department, 5-7 years experience in an applications development or systems-related capacity.  Strong technology knowledge, Solid Business System Analysis. Understanding of application software and hardware architecture principles. Mercury Quality Center (Test Director, QuickTest, WinRunner, LoadRunner) knowledge, experience with .Net, XML, and Visual Basic. Thorough Knowledge of Automation and stress testing.
Desired:  Prior experience in call center, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other regulated setting.  Experience with Off-shore support models. Proven experience establishing a continuously improving quality assurance process.
Desired:  QAI Certification, PMP Certification
